This Community Fair Trade shea butter comes from Ghana. Local women hand-harvest shea nuts, dry them in the sun and crack them to extract the kernels. These are roasted and ground into a paste to make the butter. The Body Shop's trade with the Tungteiya Women' Shea Butter Association has helped to fund three medical centres and 10 nursery schools.

Just OK
I normally like The Body Shop products but this was just So So. Smell was faint but I didn’t particulary like it. Absorbed ok and didn’t leave a greasy finish.Â
Too rich...
This cream took a while to sink in and while it smells gorgeous, it didn’t help my oily skin as it just made it look more shiny.Â

Potentially Harmful Product
It has little to no smell, despite its 7 fragrance ingredients and has a slight pink colouring to it thanks to the ingredient CI 14700 - an Azo Compound which has been banned from use as a food colourant due to it being a Carcinogen (affects nerve transmissions to the brain, causing genetic damage) - I don't want that soaking into my skin. It also contains 5 preservatives - 4 of which are parabens (man-made chemical preservatives which mimic the effects of Estrogen, and have been linked to premature puberty, breast cancer and reduced fertility in males). To anyone looking for a Shea butter moisturiser, I'd recommend buying pure Shea butter. Not this.

I have really sensitive skin and this irritated my skin quite a lot!
